Funeral Arrangers Secretary & Receptionist

Part Time

£ 9.30 p/h 

Minimum Contracted 30 hours per week- Monday - Friday 10:00 - 16:00 


No experience required, all training provided 

'Funeral Arrangers Secretary's & Receptionists' are responsible for helping funeral arrangers with their office based tasks, helping to submit paperwork, file and ultimately prepare the funeral arrangements so they can be carried out. 

This role also incorporates a receptionist role, therefore you would be required to answer the telephone, direct calls, take notes and see clients before their appointments with their funeral arranger. 

Duties include: 

  • Preparing Paperwork 

  • Liaising with third parties for paperwork 

  • General Administration 

  • Answering Telephone

  • Seeing clients upon arrival to the office (Office is currently closed during the COVID-19 pandemic)

  • Arranging/ Booking Appointments 

  • Assisting Funeral Arrangers/Directors with their duties

  • Other funeral related activities and general duties

Prospective candidates should: 

  • Must have the right to work in the U.K.

  • Have a keen eye for detail 

  • Have the highest level of respect and discretion

  • Be able to work as part of a team 

  • Polite telephone manner and interpersonal skills 

  • Competency with email and Microsoft word and excel (However training will be provided)

  • Qualifications in English and Maths at Grade C+ preferred

Please Note: 

You are not required to handle or see any deceased, you will of course however see coffins and be party to discussions regarding the arrangement of funerals and the process involved.

Please be aware despise not having to see or handle deceased, this is a funeral directors and it may happen at some point during the course of your employment.
