Workshop & Mortuary Technician 

Part Time

£ 10.00p/h 

Minimum Contracted 10 hours per week between- Monday - Friday 8:00 - 17:00 

+Out of hours Transfers £45.00per transfer & On Call £70pcw - (Average of Bi-weekly)

No experience required, all training provided 

'Workshop and Mortuary Technician's are responsible for helping funeral arrangers prepare deceased, coffins and vehicles for funerals and ultimately carry out the funeral including 

This role also includes an out of hours on call rota for assisting funeral directors in collecting deceased from home, nursing homes etc. when someone passes away.

Duties include: 

  • Cleaning and preparing fleet vehicles

  • Preparing coffins

  • Driving fleet vehicles (Subject to terms and conditions of employment) 

  • Participating in funerals (carrying coffins)

  • Collecting deceased from hospitals and hospices etc. during office hours

  • Participating in an out out of hours on call rota for collection of deceased 

  • Dressing and preparing deceased for chapel visits and funerals

  • Other funeral related activities and general duties

Prospective candidates should: 

  • Must have the right to work in the U.K.

  • Have a keen eye for detail 

  • Have the highest level of respect and discretion

  • Be able to work as part of a team 

  • Polite telephone manner and interpersonal skills 

  • Qualifications in English and Maths at Grade C+ preferred

Please Note: 

You may be required to have vaccinations in order to be employed in this role given the nature of the role. If you have not had the necessary vaccinations we may provide and pay for these to be administered through a GP of our choosing.

Please be aware you will be required to handle deceased, this is a funeral directors and it will happen during the course of your employment.  

This must be considered before applying. 

This will be phased in over the course of your probationary period.
