Workshop and Mortuary Technicians are responsible for the preparation of fleet vehicles, coffins and deceased for funerals.
Cleaning and preparing fleet vehicles for service
Driving fleet vehicles (subject to terms and conditions of employment)
Participating in funerals (Carrying)
Collecting deceased from hospital etc. during office hours
Participating in an out of hours on call rota for collection of the deceased
Dressing and preparing deceased for chapel visits and funerals
Other funeral related activities and general duties
Prospective candidates should:
Hold a full clean U.K. driving licence
Must have the right to work in the U.K.
Successful candidates will be subject to a D.B.S. check
Have a keen eye for detail
Have the highest level of respect and discretion
You may be required to have certain vaccinations in order to be employed in this role, given the nature of the job. If you have not had these vaccination, we may provide and pay for these to be administered but only upon successful completion of your probationary period. (Subject to terms and conditions)
Workshop and mortuary technicians will inevitably have to see and handle the deceased. This must be considered before applying. This part of the job will be a gradual phase over the course of your probationary period. There will be no immediate expectation to handle/ view the deceased
